A personalized experience of self-discovery through immersive art installations and interactive performances. Limbo takes you on an interactive journey delving into the life you’ve lived, your hopes, fears, and your deepest dreams.

“This temple is for each of you. Respect the space and each other while remaining silent as you reflect upon what you wish to transmute from its current form into a new form. Take your time to define your transmutation and then express it on paper. Hold it clear in your mind & heart and, consciously and deliberately, whisper it to the air to let it go, dip it in the water so it shall flow, and bury it in the earth so it may grow. In a ceremony at the end, we light the transmutations with fire, so they will glow.”

Silence is far more than the absence of noise. Silence can give us space for the presence of anything. Through visual arts, installations, augmented reality and performances this exhibition explores the different meanings that can be breathed into silence and opens spaces to listen to what it has to say to each of us.

In times of collective narcissism, of over-saturation and simultaneous emptiness, the return back to one’s inner power center seems more necessary than ever. The autopilot, already an archetype of our society, is an ambivalent energy. It gives us security in situations in which we humans must act immediately, because it functions without reflection or emotion. But it also seduces us into inertia, into abdicating responsibility and acting as everyone does, supposedly playing it safe. The autopilot is the mechanism that either saves us or kills us, a blessing and a curse, the force that every human being has to deal with if we don’t want to be merely blown through our fast passing lives.
In this exhibition, I present my new works “Focus” and “Retune”, and also perform “Chest of Mirrors” on 12.02.

Aloneness is an immersive art experience that explores the connection we cultivate with ourselves in solitude, the shimmering golden light that only we can cast over ourselves.
“Loneliness is the absence of the other.
Aloneness is the presence of oneself.”
What does it mean to be alone? How is it different from being lonely? How have we connected with this topic in the last 18 months of pandemic outbreaks and lockdowns? How did our restricted social lives and cultural experiences affect our relationship with ourselves?
Aloneness is a debut immersive art exhibit of the duo Kia Kali and Alex Cuthbertson that explores the relationship we cultivate with ourselves in solitude. Multiple installation spaces invite visitors to experience a different aspect of this topic, offering contained spaces to breathe, think your thoughts and feel your feelings while blurring the view of others and sharpening your inner connection.
You are invited to travel through different atmospheres and take space to sense and reflect upon what aloneness means to you. Through sound, light, touch and smell, you will be guided on a several-stage journey to explore the light and shadows of the most intimate relationship and the one that matters most: the one with yourself.

DREAM WORLD: THE EXPERIMENT
Immersive Installation and Interactive Performance
December 2019 – January 2020
“Dream World: The Experiment” is Dream World’s initial pilot project to test an art form combining immersive installations, interactive performances and an overarching narrative guiding visitors through the experience. Visitors are invited onto a 1-2 hour interactive adventure through a dream sequence with over a dozen performers in a completely immersive arts installation. After the experience you can stay to dance, reflect, and meet other dreamers in our Dream World Clubhouse.
The experience features the work of over 50 local creatives, including Karmanoia – the creators of the greatly missed “Labyrinth” at Wilde Renate (2010-2014) who pioneered this form of immersive art.
The temporary venue for the Dream World Experiment is provided by Pandion through their Transiträume initiative, supporting the temporary use of buildings for local culture.
In a secret location around Berlin Ostkreuz, a space that is about to be demolished… That is where your dream starts!
